You ever feel cursed, Coach?

A quote from the movie Friday Night Lights:

You ever feel cursed, Coach?
Like, no matter what, inside your heart you feel that you're gonna lose.
Like something's hanging over you,
I feel like that all the time.
Even when things are going good.
When we're winnin', it's there.
And when we're losin', it's there.

The coach replies:

It took me a long timeto realize that, uh,
there ain't much difference between winnin' and losin', except for how the outside world treats you.
But inside you,it's about all the same.
It really is.
Fact of the matter is, I believe that, uh, our only curses are the ones that are self-imposed.
You know what I'm sayin'?
We, all of us, dig our own holes.

Those quotes really hit home with me. They hit deep.

The film is basicaly about a high school football team based in the middle of nowhere, Texas. There is like this IMMENSE pressure on them to win a "state championship". The whole town has the highest expectations of them. Literaly this is the whole world for the kids.
They start their season off pretty well, winning a few games, but mainly against easy teams.
And then they face their local rivals. Midland Lee.
This is a crucial match as it gets them into the "play-off's". The loose and the above is an extract of a conversation between the quaterback of the team and the coach.

Later in the film, they find out that the way that the team that goes through is decided is through a coin toss. Its a really intesne moment and just before the coach flips the coin, he glances over at the quaterback, smiles and says:

"Aint no curses"
